Bioelectrochemical technologies offer alternative ways of treating wastewater and using this process to generate electricity. However, research in area is just beginning consider environmental transmission viruses present wastewater. The viral fecal indicator coliphage MS2 (the most frequently used pathogen model) was study, since it a well-known indigenous virus. scaled-up bioelectrochemical system had working volume 167 L concentration decreased from 8000 285 PFU/mL. kinetics were quantified up 15 h, after which excessive yeast growth the prevented further bacteriophage determination. logarithmic reduction value (LRV) calculated within first three hours 3.8.
